We won't lie. Spending the evening in a dimly lit gym sorting through other people's cast-offs isn't everyone's idea of a hot night out. But it can be! Gather a few friends, sign up for the same time slot (We'll take the kids! See babysitting section for details.) and find the inner peace the comes from organizing mountains of housewares while reconnecting with old friends or making new ones.
CLC receives $578 less per child than other schools in the area. This is equivalent to $150,000 less in funding from State and Federal sources. We need to bridge this gap. Last year, we raised $17,000 just by selling things that people within our community no longer needed. What if we could raise $17,000 again? What if we could raise $20,000? Well, that puts us a whole lot closer to bridging that gap. That might help save our Milestone trips or set the classrooms up with supplies for the year. It could fund FAB and seminars, the CLC garden, upgrades of teacher and learner laptops and more. Just think of where we could go. . .
But we cannot do it alone! There is a lot of work to be done, "stuff" to be sorted and sold, and we need your help!
While feeling good may be reward enough, we on the Rummage Sale Team like to offer a little additional enticement:
Volunteer to work 6 hours or more on the Rummage Sale (including collecting at donation drops, sorting, and any of other other sign ups on the attached list) and you have earned your family a slot in the coveted Volunteer Preview to be held the evening of Friday, March 19. Those who made the preview last year can tell you what kinds of deals they scored. To quote one parent, "I'll do anything I have to to get in there early again this year."
